Louisa Mary remained single, worked at Nelson College for many years, finally retiring to Takaka where she lived with a friend, Miss Eva Gouch. When she died in 1947, she was buried at Wakapuaka Cemetery.

John was a Police Constable and died "during the night" on the road near to Bassen due to exposure to cold. He died before his youngest daughter was born.
